Dr Louise Bettiol is a tenant General Practitioner here at Botanical Gardens Health.  Dr Bettiol has been a GP in Castlemaine since 2006.  Prior to working in Castlemaine she worked in Rural and Remote health services in the Torres Strait, Papua New Guinea and East Arnhem Land.

She is accredited to provide shared obstetric care with Bendigo Health, The Royal Women’s Hospital and Mercy Hospital for Women.  Dr Bettiol is an examiner for RACGP (Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) and is also a member of the Australasian Menopause Society.

Outside of Clinical Practice, Dr Bettiol is passionate about ensuring a sustainable Rural General Practice Workforce and mentoring the next generation of Rural Generalists.  Her interests include Clinical Governance and since 2021 she has also worked part time as the GP Clinical Director for LMICS (Loddon Mallee Integrated Cancer Service). This role is focused on service improvement for people with Cancer in our region and includes working closely with other Stakeholders and the Victorian Department of Health.
